I know it’s been forever…. I know but let’s get past that. I’m here today because I wanna try something. I have a gig on Beach Music TV now. It’s a video show that I do called Tried and True Thursdays with Miss Mini. I play oldies because I love them. Each week I focus on a different decade and play music from it. I also share interesting little tidbits about the artists, songs and myself.
I’ve been having the hardest time finding somewhere I can post the entire shows because of course, copywritten material is used. Facebook mutes them. YouTube won’t even post them at all. So, I’m thinking can I use my website? Let’s see.
I’m just hoping none of this gets muted when I share! If you have a few minutes check me out. I do this every Thursday evening from 6-7.
OK, yes this is a shameless plug but let us fall to other matters now. So much has happened since I last posted here. The band is still working and pretty busy during the warm season. Since we mainly only do festivals and private events now, in the winter we’re pretty stagnant. I absolutely don’t mind that. I like being out of the bars and clubs and not being out until all hours of the morning.
Yeah, I’m getting older. Wanna fight about it? HA! But I have accomplished something that I have wanted for years now. The band is playing the Midtown Beach Music series in Raleigh, NC this year! May 28th we’ll be in North Hills! This series only hosts the best beach bands out there and now, here we are. Take a look at the lineup.
- April 16th North Tower Band
- April 23rd The ToneZ
- April 30th Jim Quick & Coastline
- May 7th The Catalinas

- May 21st The Chairmen of the Board
- May 28th Miss Mini & the Sandman Band
- June 4th Band of Oz

Last year brought quite a shake up with the band members and I had to replace all but one of them. Anyone in this business knows that band members come and go. Luckily, I have a reputation now and can replace members quickly so we’re back up and running. I do miss my old guys though. I still love and respect all of them. We just can’t work together anymore. Que sera, sera.
I just have to get new pics and video which I will do with our first gig, which is scheduled for April 18th at the Rocky Mount Mills. I’m so excited that I finally get to perform in my hometown. This was another goal. We play in pretty much every larger city in Eastern and Central North Carolina EXCEPT Rocky Mount. Hopefully this will lead to doing the summer concert series here too.
Since I will be posting the show every week, I apologize that I will also be spilling my guts to you all quite often now. Until next week good people…
