MAN!!! It’s been two years since I wrote a post! All that’s happened is just really astounding. Not with my music career or anything… That shit is pretty much back to square one. With COVID-19 just barely loosening it’s grip I’m just now able to start doing gigs again. I have also realized that I need to record some new music. Good thing is, I’ve got possibilities coming from all over the place so I’m looking forward to getting work!
I actually had a 9-5 job for the last couple years. I gave that shit up last month. Regular jobs are just not something I’m cut out for. Luckily, with the stimulus money I am OK financially for a bit. I also still do some freelancing to make ends meet. I just can’t commit 40 hours of my week to a job when there is so much more I need to do now. I’ve made a promise to myself to finish another CD before 2022. It is now May 23 and I have recorded not one new song.
Anyway, lets talk about my next gig. It’s in Emporia VA with Big G, Hardway Connection and J. Red. Here’s the flyer.

Needless to say, it’s been hell trying to get the band back in shape. BUT everyone seems enthused to get back out there. I still don’t like having to manage this side of it. I haven’t been able to find a good manager yet so here I am. And since I’ve had a couple of bad experiences, I’m a bit of a control freak now so I don’t even know if I can have a manager. Scratch that, I can but they have to be a good one. If this show goes like I think it will, it should open up more gigs.
At least I can still use East Coast Entertainment as my booking agent. I’m still on the website so yeah…. They probably won’t be calling me for any gigs but that’s a whole other LONG story. No worries though. I’m going to focus on recording so if I don’t get that many gigs right now it’s cool. I’m not going to put the cart before the horse this time and try to get gigs without any music out there. I have to let the music drive the gigs.
I’m also going to call in a few favors. I’ve been told by so many in the business that they would do this and that for me. I know that’s just what happens. People make all kinds of promises to you and do NONE of what they said. I will be reminding some of them what they promised and do my best to collect. It may not result in anything but if it does, that would be great.
I just looked around on Facebook today for how the ticket sales for the show are going and it’s insane! I was only going to take 50 CDs to sell but it looks like I need more. I’ll be pressing those this weekend. I used Discmakers for the first 50 but I don’t have the cash for a re-print from them so I’m gonna do it myself. OK, this has become just rambling now so I’m going to end it. I hope to see you out on the road. Be sure to come find me and say hello if we run into each other!
